A Little Bit About Me
Dear Future Husband,

Assalam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh. I pray that you are in best health and iman upon reading this letter.

I've never written a love letter before, nor I ever imagined writing one so please bear with me as I pour my heart into this 😅

I don't know where you are now. You could be stuck somewhere but I pray that you're not six feet under for I still want to meet you in this lifetime in shaa Allah. I do hope as well that you are in this app and you would be able to read this message.

I have been waiting for you, tried to look for you. It's been a while but I believe in Allah's perfect timing. I'm not a young woman in my 20's anymore. I may not be that young anymore but I love this version of myself more. I've come a long way to be who I am now, spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Rest assured that I have developed more strength in my character and compassion in my heart that will help both of us navigate marriage and life in general, more successfully in shaa Allah.

I am a practicing Muslima, Alhamdulillah. I don't miss fardh prayers and offer nafl prayers as much as I could. Sometimes, I fast on Mondays and Thursdays. I am learning to recite the Qur'an with correct Tajweed. Alhamdulillah, I think I am improving on that though still far from perfect. I am not very good at memorization but I am working on that. May Allah make it easy for me. I have started wearing the abaya since living here in UAE 6 years ago. I love it, dressing up modestly actually has been my ticket to freedom.

I love animals. I even find reptiles cute. In fact, I have two cats. I hope you don't mind if they wake us up way before fajr time. I know they ask for food during the most inconvenient time but it is during this time that I am able to wake up and offer tahajjud and ask you from Allah. So, it's all good, right?

I come from a humble background. Owning designer items and planning expensive trips abroad are things I'm not really familiar with lol. But you see, I also work hard for the things I want in life. Alhamdulillah, I'm still so much blessed and never really felt inadequate. Probably because I know what matter most in life. If you come from a Western country, know that your visa is the last thing I'm interested with. I like living in a Muslim country so living in a non Muslim one is not something I really want. Although, I'd relocate for you if that's the only way things would work.

I come from a big family, too. I have 5 brothers. I'm never blessed with a sister, though. I still have both of my parents, Alhamdulillah. I am loved to pieces by these people. I am equally fierce in my love for them as well.

Dear future husband, know that I have loved you long before I meet you. I have never had anyone before you. I know in my heart that I'd be capable of loving only one man in my whole life. But I am not perfect. I have many flaws. I hope you will still find me beautiful in times when I least feel beautiful. I hope your love will see past the moments when I seem difficult and complicated. Know that my truth lies in my strength and love.

Dear future husband, I hope you are a good Muslim. I am not asking you to be perfect. But I really pray your heart is inclined to worshipping and serving our Lord. You will be my imam and our future children would look up to you as their model in shaa Allah. And I pray that you don't practice innovations in our religion. I hope you have good friends who are also righteous.

Dear future husband, I hope you are not rich but hardworking and has an honest job. Don't worry, I will not ask a luxurious life from you. But I hope that you know how to spend according to your means in shaa Allah. And even if you have the means, I hope that you won't be excessive and be boastful of what you have or capable of having. And I hope that you would be generous to share your blessings to family and our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

Dear future husband, I hope you would be so, so kind and gentle to me and our children and other people (and even animals). I hope you are very patient and won't get mad if I burnt your dinner. And I hope that you are living a healthy life, free from vices.

Dear future husband, I hope we find friendship as well as romance in our marriage. I hope we would share lots of laughters and much love together. I pray that we would always fight against the adversities of life together and not against each other. I pray that we would always choose each other over our differences. I'm sure you and I together will be a fun adventure in shaa Allah.

Dear future husband, I pray that you will love the human in me, the beautiful and ugly parts of me; accept the whole of me. I pray that we will have the kind of love that nurtures and heals. I pray that I will feel mostly myself when I'm with you without the fear of being judged. I pray that your love will be a source of my strength and growth. Know that all the kindness you will show me will be returned double or even more.

Dear future husband, I hope you have been patient and persistent in searching for me as well. Our life is short but I'd still want to spend it with you here and work hard together to meet again in Jannah in shaa Allah.
